It's All God
28 Feb 2013

SOMETIMES WE FORGET that it's all God. Our politicians are God, our bankers are God, our local councils are God, our military are God, the grey faces that pass us in the street are God. And of course, we are God also. Our bodies are God, our minds are God, our diseases are God, pollution is God and our fears are God too.

It is so humbling and comforting to know that we are faced with the Beloved at every moment. The fierceness of life is but an illusion: the anger, the separation, the stupidity, the genius… it is all God. The snarl of a thug in the street and the tender caress of a lover, both are equally God.

When we forget that it is all God, we become embroiled in the story of life, a story that evokes strong emotions in our minds, robbing us of peace. We rail against the unfairness of life, we feel the pinch of hunger, the despair of loneliness, the desperation to be loved; we delight in good fortune, we smile at a baby and we dance with the joy of expression. But it is all just the play of God — shadows of His/Her spirit in expression.

A friend of mine once died painfully… her body ravaged by cancer. But she died to what? To God! The pain was part of God and the cancer was as much God’s grace expressed biologically as is the sublime beauty of a top ballerina. Can we see the divinity in pain as much as we see the divinity in orgasm?

I look back at the disasters in my life, and realize that it was all God. The calamities were blessings, although I only realize it now. And the blessings shaped a life that was blessed, as all lives are blessed because they are all part of the divine play.

Thank you Divine Mother for the beauty of All-That-Is — for this kaleidoscope of sacred moments. And may we remember that in all these different forms, your grace reflects back at us in an endless incantation of the unity of all things. It takes but a second to see the grace that has been masquerading as misfortune. But few can receive that grace as they have forgotten that it's ALL God.

It's all God.
It's all God.
It's all God.
It's all God.
It's all God.
